On Thursday, November 16, the event "LU Student Photo Orienteering 2023" will take place, in which any Latvia University student can participate. It will be a great opportunity for both classmates and good friends studying at Latvia University to engage in an interesting and exciting recreational event in a non-traditional atmosphere. Teams consisting of 3 to 5 Latvia University students can apply for the event.

Within the event, the main goal of the teams is to explore the most interesting objects in Riga, spend quality time, and enjoy the spirit of competition by trying to accumulate as many points as possible. Points can be earned by at least 3 team members taking photos at control points and/or filming the task completion processes. The sought-after control points will be located in Riga within a 3-kilometer radius from the LU Dabas māja.

Participants in the event will have a unified starting point at the main entrance of LU Dabas māja, Jelgavas Street 1. The team that starts first will begin at 16:30. The other teams will start subsequently with a 2-minute interval. The precise list of starting times will be available to the teams after the registration for the event ends. Each team will receive orienteering maps and photos of the objects to be found shortly before their start.

After receiving the list of control points and tasks, the teams will have 3 hours to orient themselves and, after completion, upload the photos and videos taken during the event to the failiem.lv website. After uploading the files to the failiem.lv website, it is necessary to provide the email kalvis.kazaks@lu.lv and click "Save and Send."

The three teams with the highest accumulated point count will be awarded prizes from LU. Individual awards will be given to the 7.2. teams. The results will be announced on the www.lu.lv/sports website by 2:00 PM on November 20, 2023.

To apply for the event, fill out the electronic application form by November 15, 2023, at 11:59 PM.
