Ilgonis Vilks: Visuma noslēpumus šķetinot (Unraveling the Mysteries of the Universe). Twelve popular science lectures in Latvian. Astronomy is especially interesting because it is in continuous development. Thanks to powerful telescopes, new discoveries follow one another. Some discoveries strengthen previous knowledge, others force us to reconsider existing ideas and create new theories. This set of lectures provides an overview of the diversity of cosmic objects, the current situation in the study of the Universe, and the unanswered questions that arise in the course of research. It will also make us think about the place of man in the world structure.
