Baldone Observatory is a scientific institution of national importance and the only facility for professional optical astronomical observations in Latvia. It is a structural unit of the Institute of Astronomy of the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technologies of the University of Latvia. Excursions are available at the Baldone Observatory: a creative workshop, a visit to the mini-planetarium "Count the stars, don't count the time" and a lesson on demand "The Miracle of Space".
