Practical Research Methodology Seminar I

The objective of this course is to provide hands-on learning experience of an important type of qualitative research method: the qualitative research interview. The first part of this course consist of a sequence of lectures, introducing the students to the concept, philosophy and practice of conducting interviews, in pursuit of answers to a well defined research question The practical part will give hands-on instructions on how to construct interview questions, conduct the interview, and write the analytical/interpretive report. Students will conduct interview(s) and report their findings (seminars). The learning process will imply the students to be active learners; this should be subjected to critical reflection in the light of the course literature and one's own practical experience.
