The second level of professional higher education study program "Teacher" is implemented in cooperation with the foundation ‘Possible Mission’. The uniqueness of the study programme in Latvia is justified by the form of its implementation – the studies are based on the work environment. The programme is licensed on May 15, 2020.
The aim of the study program is to provide an opportunity for students with a bachelor's or master's degree in a field of science (or a similar field in higher education) that is not pedagogy, but corresponds to the field of study, to develop the competence necessary for pedagogical activities and to obtain a teacher's qualification one of the modules (technology, science, cultural awareness and self-expression in the arts, mathematics, social and civic, language, health and physical activity) to perform professional pedagogical activity in one of the levels and types of education.

After acquiring the teacher's qualification (in the year of the induction), the graduates of the programme will receive professional support and scholarships from the ‘Possible Mission’ Foundation.
According to the acquired qualification of a teacher, graduates of the programme can work in public and private schools, interest education institutions, music and art schools, sports schools.
Previous education:
- Bachelor's and / or master's degree or second level of professional higher education, or equivalent higher education in selected fields of study (languages (Latvian Languages and Literature, Latvian as a Second Language, Russian Language and Literature, Russian as a Foreign Language, English, French, Swedish, German, Spanish), mathematics, technology, cultural awareness and self - expression in the arts, science, health and physical activity, social and civic) in the corresponding study courses;
- Bachelor's and / or master's degree or second level of professional higher education and acquired within the study programme in the field of study (languages (Latvian Languages and Literature, Latvian as a Second Language, Russian Language and Literature, Russian as a Foreign Language, English, French, Swedish, German, Spanish), mathematics, technology, cultural awareness and self - expression in the arts, science, health and physical activity, social and civic) corresponding study courses in the amount of 12 credit points.
- Bachelor's and / or master's degree or second level of professional higher education in a field not related to the field of study, but in the field of study chosen in the entrance examination of the University of Latvia (languages (Latvian Languages and Literature, Latvian as a Second Language, Russian Language and Literature, Russian as a Foreign Language, English, French, Swedish, German, Spanish), mathematics, technology, cultural awareness and self - expression in the arts, science, health and physical activity, social and civic) acquired rating of very good / excellent / with distinction (8-10).
Competition evaluation calculation’s formula: the average mark (20 x 10 = 200) + total (or average) grade of final examinations (10 x 10 = 100) + results of the three rounds of selection organized by the Foundation ‘Possible Mission’ ( 1 x 700 = 700);
Student selection
The selection organized by the ‘Possible Mission’ foundation takes place in three rounds:
- application form,
- performing a lesson, group work and role play,
- face-to-face interview.
