The Council of the University of Latvia (UL) has appointed three vice-rectors, who will begin their duties today, on 3 April. Professor Kristīne Strada-Rozenberga has been appointed as Vice-Rector for Studies, Associate Professor Guntars Kitenbergs – as Vice-Rector for Science, and Enno Ence – Vice-Rector for Development.

Prof. Kristīne Strada-Rozenberga is a sworn advocate, an expert in criminal law, until now she has served as the dean of the UL Faculty of Law. Her significant contribution to the development of the Latvian justice system, strengthening of democracy and the rule of law has been recognized  with the Letter of Appreciation of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia, the Letter of Appreciation of the Supreme Court and the Honorary Badge of the Second Degree of the Justice System and the Golden Honorary Badge of the Ministry of the Interior. She has also received the awards of University of Latvia Student Council, as well as other marks of distinction. The professor is the author of more than 120 scientific publications and monographs devoted to issues of legal science, mainly – criminal procedure. 

Assoc. Prof. Guntars Kitenbergs, Doctor of Physical Sciences, is a leading researcher and lecturer at the UL Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Optometry. He is a member of the Scientific Council of the UL Institute of Solid State Physics, the leader and participant of a number of international research projects, as well as the author of numerous scientific and popular science publications. 

Enno Ence is a well-known entrepreneur in Latvia, founder of the brand “Milzu!”, and a long-time manager of the company, a lecturer at Riga Technical University and Riga Business School, has been actively involved in various business organizations, including the Export Council of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is currently advancing towards a doctorate in economics.
