On April 5, ISSP UL scientist Dr. Dmitrijs Bočarovs spoke at the LR4 with reflections on the development of contemporary science.

In 20th century and in the beginning of the 21st century, many scientists believe that the scientific tools available are not enough to form an opinion on an objective reality. Historian and philosopher of science Thomas Kuhn, put forward the need to formulate the modern paradigm of science along with methodology, concepts, and other categories, as well as its changes, as it became clear that modern science is not able to bind together and rationalise the increasing amount of facts and phenomena. The reality challenges contemporary science, doubts its capabilities, and the new paradigm is the answer to this challenge.
