The Pollen Monitoring Programme aims to encourage the monitoring of modern pollen deposition under as natural conditions as possible as a basis for interpreting fossil pollen spectra ( http://www.paleosciencedata.net/pollen/pmp/pmp.html). Since the PMP will have been operating for 10 years by the time of the meeting it is envisaged that there will be significant contributions of 9-year (and possibly longer) data series from very different ecological areas.

The 6th International Meeting of the Pollen Monitoring Programme (PMP) will be hosted by the Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences, University of Latvia, Latvia. http://www.lu.lv/eng/general/structure/faculties/geography/
