European Studies

The study programme is carried out by the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in collaboration with The Centre for European and Transition Studies. This interdisciplinary academic programme offers  an opportunity to study economic, political and legal space of Europe, to acquire a deeper knowledge of European integration process and to analyse functional principles, procedures and major policies of EU beyond disciplinary boundaries. During studies, students can choose field for specialization, e.g. EU Law, trade, energy issues, migration, regional and social dimension and external relations

The Programme  provides studies in international environment of lingual and cultural diversity by attracting both international students and lecturers. In addition to interdisciplinary EU thematic course, also French language course is included in the programme. During studies students are offered to participate in national and international academic conferences and publish the results of their researches. Students are also offered to participate at EU supported research projects. The Programme offers and encourages interdisciplinary, interactive, and innovative teaching methods which are characterized by group works, study trips, practical case analyses and discussions lead by internationally recognized domestic and foreign experts with comprehensive academic and professional experience in EU matters, thus strongly ensuring both theoretical and professionally practical aspects during studies.

Full-time studies - 2 years

EU, EEA, Swiss citizens, permanent residence permit holders and their family members - 2150 € per year. Other country citizens - 2356 € per year.

Papildu nosacījumi:

  1. Angļu valodas prasme, kuru apliecina starptautisko angļu valodas testu rezultāti - TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Internet-based vismaz 72 punkti, vai IELTS (International English Language Testing System) vismaz 5,5 punkti, vai CPE (Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English) jebkurš līmenis, vai CAE (Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English) jebkurš līmenis, vai FCE (First Certificate in English) – B, vai PTE (Pearson Test of English) General – vismaz B2, vai apliecinājums par angļu valodas prasmi vismaz B2 līmenī saskaņā ar Eiropas kopīgajām valodu pamatnostādnēm vai vērtējums angļu valodā iepriekšējās izglītības dokumentā (atzīmei jābūt ne zemākai kā 6 (10 ballu skalā) jeb „gandrīz labi”), vai vērtējums iestājpārbaudījumā, izņemot gadījumus, kad iepriekšējā izglītība iegūta angļu valodā;
  2. Dzīves gājuma apraksts (CV) un motivācijas vēstule.
