Course abstract:
The goal of this class is to explore and engage the democratic work place, teams and teamwork concepts, group dynamics, self-management, leadership and effective followership. The intended audience includes advanced undergraduate and graduate level students and staff and supervisors in library and information centres and other groups. Topics will be taught in theory and practice through lectures, guided discussion of readings, films, literature, case studies, small groups, student team presentations, and an array of “experiential” activities.

Course abstract:
Objective of course – to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills on strategic planning of hybrid library and digital resources. The course gives an overview about new trends in library science and library work. Different definitions of hybrid, digital, electronic or virtual library are discussed. A new strategy towards an integrated library will be presented. The tools needed on the way to a hybrid, digital and integrated library are described and discussed, i.e. aspects like project management, change and strategic management. The second part of the course starts with the discussion of basic techniques for the digitization of library materials and for electronic archiving and leads to the presentation of all relevant electronic media and electronic services. Electronic journals and monographs are presented as well as new electronic services and the changing role of library catalogues in a hybrid library.

Course abstract:
Course OBJECTIVE is to provide KNOWLEDGE of school libraries integration in State union information system of libraries. Course gives PERCEPTION OF KNOWLEDGE of information system SCHOOL ALISE (architecture, functional solution, cooperation model) and preconditions for its successful implementation. The course develops SKILLS to use information system SCHOOL ALISE for school library collection management, data processing, creation of information resources and readers’ database, as well as for information retrieval and statistical analysis. The course establishes an UNDERSTANDING of information system’s planning, implementation and maintenance in school library.
