Course abstract
The present course of English for the Humanities elaborates the skill of writing. This skill is split up into composing (gathering information, making mind maps, etc.), communicating (letters, e-mails, etc.), crafting (chronological and non-chronological descriptions, application of narrative and direct speech, making up a paragraph, etc.) and proof-reading and improving. The course envisages preclusive exercises of the most frequently occurring spelling, grammar and other language problems.
Learning outcomes
On finishing this course the students have obtained understanding of the multitude of the kinds and functions of written texts, students have learned how to start writing a document and complete and edit one’s own text. Students are able to write a letter, an e-mail, an invitation, a short personal biography, a narrative and argumentative essay, a description of an investigation and an examination.

Active participation in classes - 30%,
