On 16 and 17 November 2009 PROVIDUS in cooperation with Advanced Social and Political Research Institute of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Latvia is organising an international conference "Inclusion Unaffordable? The Uncertain Fate of Integration Policies and the Demonisation of Minorities and Migrants in Central and Eastern Europe".

The conference aims to assess the state and problems of integration policies in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe under current financial pressures and to address the issue of xenophobic political discourses in new EU member states. The event is supported by the Open Society Institute Think-Tank Fund, by the Embassy of Canada and by the Network of Education Policy Centres (NEPC).
