Research directions: environmental pollution control by examining microelements in water, soil and trees that have come into contact with the polluted environment; as well as, development of new methods for detecting air pollution.

1.    European project ACCENT in collaboration with University of Latvia, Institute of Atomphysics and Spectroscopy „Development of methods for analysis of airborne particles”. In cooperation with University of Copenhagen, Department of Mathematics and Physics (Denmark); University of Latvia, Institute of  Solid State Physics.
2.    Physical and chemical investigations of Latvian bioarcheological materials (in cooperation with Institute of Latvian History, University of Latvia).
3.    Synthesis of monolithic materials (in collaboration with Dublin City University) and investigation of electrochemically obtained nanomaterials (in cooperation with Institute of Chemical Physics, University of Latvia).
4.    Development of analytical methods for the analysis of water, soil and biological objects (in cooperation with Latvian Wood Research institute, Latvian Wood Chemistry Institute and Ltd Riga Water).
5.    Quantification of microimpurities in solar grade silicon (in cooperation with Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia).
6.    Synthesis and investigation of hydroxyl apathites (in cooperation with Riga Biomaterial Innovation and Development Center, Riga Technical University).
