Research areas

  • Ecological research of hydroecosystems (freshwater, brackish water and brine water ecosystems)
  • Research of biological diversity, invasive species in freshwater and marine ecosystems
  • Eco-toxicological research and the use of bioassay method in determination of toxicity in the environment (water, sediment, effluents)
  • Toxic algae, algae blooms, toxin producing and their impact on water organisms
  • Creation and maintenance of  aquaculture collection (organisms of phytoplankton, zooplankton, benthos and fish fauna)
