E-courses ValoP918: English Grammar for Teachers I
Course annotation The aim of the course is to promote correct development of students’ spoken and written language. It gives students a possibility to develop skills to understand the essence of English grammar forms and to compare them with the corresponding constructions in the mother tongue paying special attention to word order in the sentence and the English verb system.
Results Having successfully mastered the course, students will be able to show the following competences:
Academic competences:
- know the English grammar terminology;
- know the structure of English sentences - word order and will be able to apply it in practice;
- know the types of interrogative sentences and their use;
- know the English verb system in active voice;
- have the understanding about the verbs and their proper use in speech and writing.
Professional competences:
- are able to explain grammar rules of the English language in a simple and intelligible way;
- are able to present the acquired grammatical structures using different teaching aids.

Requirements for obtaining credit points Semester assessment cosists of:
- student’s active participation in the study processand timely and successful presentation of the home assignments,
- 4 successfully passed tests (50%),
- written examination (50%).
In the case of absence students have to study individually and consult with the lecturer during the office hours.
