E-courses ValoP916: Speech Practice of the English Language II
Course annotation The aim of the course is to give students an opportunity to develop their monological speech, dialogue building, argumentation and discussion skills and to enrich the theme related vocabulary. The aim of the course is to facilitate the development of teachers’ intercultural communicative competence and give them a possibility to learn about intercultural communication and raise their awareness of similarities and differences within their own and target culture.
Results By the end of the course students should be able to:
- understand communication actions and strategies;
- explain similar and different phenomena within different cultures;
- explain the concept of intercultural communication and its role in the foreign language acquisition process;
- develop a coherent and detailed narrative about the topics covered in the course;
- give a presentation in front of the audience and answer to the questions asked by the listeners spontaneously and freely formulating thoughts;
- give a presentation using effectively ICT;
- use their gained skills and competences in real life situations.

Requirements for obtaining credit points Regular attendance is expected of each student.
Active participation and communication in class – 40%;
Successful completion of assigned work in written and oral form – 15%;
Successful completion of a practical research and its oral presentation – 20%;
Oral exam at the end of the course – 25%.
