Course annotation The aim of the course is to give the students the opportunity to develop and improve their writing skills in English. During the course the students are given the possibility to improve their ability to write a variety of text types. Students will also be given recommendations for self-study, taking into consideration their needs and level of knowledge. The main themes cover the English spelling rules, paragraph writing and the topic sentence, text unity and coherence, as well as essay types, letter types, summary and abstract writing. The course finishes with a written examination.
Results By the end of the course the students will understand the basic English spelling rules, as well as the rules of punctuation and capitalization; sentence structure and text cohesion; will be able to recognize different styles of writing and text types; will know the principles of writing each text type; will have learned how to make an outline and individually create a text (essay, letter, CV, review, summary and abstract) according to the requirements.
