Course annotation The course aims at developing English language and communication skills to be able to provide and obtain professional and other information within certain business and everyday situations when summarizing the results of trading performance during an accounting year in annual accounts, writing business correspondence, speaking on the phone, going on business trips abroad. Grammar is taught in close connection with the texts and topics, drawing students' attention to specific grammar constructions.
Results Having acquired the material of the course successfully the students can:
- read and understand professional texts, e.g. profit and loss account, cashflow;
- perform professional tasks, e.g. order goods and pay for them, using English language;
- write business letters and faxes;
- characterise main trends in the work of a firm;
- solve problems and describe their business over the telephone.
