Course annotation This course is designed for students who can already read and understand paragraphs of fair length and also write short paragraphs in the present, past and future tenses using the gerund. The course will further cover the use of verb, active auxilary verbs, participles, indrect speech, causative gerund and the gerunds of time. The course will include comprehensive reading passages of fair length. Students will develop intermediate level (B1) listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Various classroom activities, including folksongs, are used to stimulate the process of acquiring the Turkish language and culture.

Results By the end of the course students will be able to

•communicate orally using the learned material, vocabulary and the pronunciation understood by a native speaker, read and write the assigned texts correctly;
•use complex sentences compound tenses and possessive constructions;
•perform [at level B1] of the Common European Framework.
