Course annotation | This is the second part of the course for two semesters. During the course students will be further introduced to Chinese classical literary language, most important philosophers and their works. The aim of the course is to teach students to read, analyze and translate writings with historical, literary, religious, philosophical, socio-political contents from Han, Tang and other Dynasties A.D. An short insight into usage of the modern literary language today will also be given. |

Results | The course will continue to develop comprehension skills of texts, as well as continue to deepen the knowledge about Chinese traditional society and culture. Grammar rules of wenyan are taught along with examples and usage in texts. After finishing this course students, with a help of a dictionary, will be able to read and orientate themselves in texts of Confucius, Zhuangzi, Laozi, Han Feizi and other writers. After learning grammar of wenyan and full form characters, students will be able to understand better the literary language used nowadays. This will also enable them to read publications from Hongkong and Taiwan. |
