E-courses SDSK1123: Introduction to Korean Culture I
Course annotation The aim of the course is to introduce various aspects of Korean culture and develop basic understanding of Korean mentality, life philosophy and daily life. The course is meant for students of Korean language module will assists in improving students’ language skills a general understanding of it.

Results After completing the course, , students will be able to:
1) Explain how Korean culture affects the use of Korean language in different situations of life;
2) Differ Korean traditional and modern music genres and the define meaning of music in culture;
3) Understands that culture, history and language is a unified system;
4) Know the history of Korea and the influence on Korean culture and language;
5) Able to play and know traditional and modern Korean games;
6) Analyse the role of Korean traditional and national sports then and now;
7) Name Korean traditional and national foods, understand table manners and etiquette;
8) Know the memorial days, holidays and traditions for these celebrations;

9) Plan, formulate and analyse the cultural similarities and differences of Latvia, Eastern Europe and Korea.
