E-courses PedaPD09: Language Lesson Modelling
Course annotation The aim of the course is to give students an opportunity to integrate their knowledge, skills and competences in education, psychology and methodology and in a structured way to complement them with information on language lesson modelling. The course objectives are: 1) to organise such learning situations in which students have an opportunity to creatively use their existing knowledge, skills and competences in new pedagogical situations; 2) to help students to form an understanding of the characteristics of language lesson modelling in connection with theories and methods of language learning/teaching and with aims set for a lesson; 3) to enhance students’ understanding of the role of language lessons in both: development of pupils’ language competence and development of their personalities.
Results In the due course of studies students get an idea of language lesson modelling (about an opportunity to integrate their existing and new knowledge, skills and competences according to theories of theories and methods of language learning/teaching and aims set for a lesson) and also an idea of development of pupils’ language competence and development of their personalities.
If students master the course successfully, they will be able to demonstrate:

3. An understanding of the correspondence of language lesson modelling to general characteristics of pupils’ learning process and the link of language lessons to the development of pupils’ personalities in the process of learning.
Professional competences:
1. Students can plan and conduct learner centred language lessons by setting appropriate aims and supporting them with appropriate sequence of activities;
2. Students can creatively and flexibly change the set direction of a language lesson if unexpected problems occur.
3. Students possess a skill to trigger an interest in pupils about the language and culture used in the country which language they learn thus giving pupils an opportunity to find out more about their mother tongue and national culture;
4. Students can choose and flexibly use course books, learning materials and learning/teaching aids correspondingly to the needs of pupils and learning/teaching context.
