Course annotation The aim of the course is to gain interdisciplinary understanding of effective didactic approaches and improve skills of implementing them into educational practice.
The objectives of the course:
1.to gain interdisciplinary knowledge and critical understanding of the effective didactic approaches in formal, non-formal and informal education;
2.to gain deeper knowledge and critical understanding of developmental trends of didactic approaches in education in Latvia and European education area;
3.to improve skills of applying the effective didactic approaches in educational practice;
4.to improve educational competence to apply the effective didactic approaches to raise and solve problems connected with well-being and harmonised development in educational practice.

Results Completing the course, students will be able to:
1.to display interdisciplinary knowledge and critical understanding of the effective didactic approaches in formal, non-formal and informal education;
2.to demonstrate deeper knowledge and critical understanding of developmental trends of education in Latvia and the common European education area;
3.to display skills of applying the effective didactic approaches in educational practice in one’s speciality taking into account the peculiarities of target audience.
4.to demonstrate skills of improving educational competence to apply the effective didactic approaches to raise and solve problems connected with well-being and harmonised development in educational practice.

Requirements for obtaining credit points The course will end up with the exam. It will be continuous assessment and consist of summing up:
1.Attendance of seminars; active participation 20 %
2.Independent work incl. conducting research 40 %
3.Exam - research presentation 40%
