E-courses MākZ3019: Designing with light
Course annotation The aim of the study course is to enable students to acquire the knowledge of lighting techniques, the principles of designing the artificial light, to inform about the latest developments in the lighting design. The objectives of the course are to improve students` competences during practical designing and project presentations.

Results Having successfully mastered the course students will have improved their knowledge and competences:
● on artificial lighting design rules;
● on lighting equipment ;
● on the possibilities and limitations of using coloured light - indoors and outdoors;
● on drafting by program Dialux;
● developed skills in designing luminous objects and / or installations during project development and project presentations.

Course plan 1. Lighting technique L4 hours
2. Types of light bulbs L 4 hours
3. The latest trends in their design L 2 hours
4. Artificial lighting design solutions and possibility in the spaces with different functions L2 hours
5. Lighting projects for public and private spaces, lighting design ( by program Dialux) practical w. 16 hours
6. Light-object design, building light installations practical w. 4 hours

Requirements for obtaining credit points 2 intersession tests (expositions) - 25% each
Final test (exposition) - 50%
