|Course annotation||The mankind has discovered and developed a unique way of preserving and transferring further the information – writing. The course acquaints students with the visual development of the characters from picture scripts to the characters used nowadays, and follows this development as the cultural and historical value. Along with the historical study
on changing the font forms the course envisages practical exercises for students to acquire the writing skills and setting up the text compositions; it offers the unity of character forms as the material, the tool and the esthetic value of the century; it looks upon the work with font as a possibility of creative self-expression according to digital technology.
|Results||Having successfully mastered the course, students acquire the understanding about the font as a cultural and historical value, the skills necessary for the bachelor of art to make the text typesetting composition respecting the possibilities of the visual perception, with its expressive, attractive visual form.|
