Course annotation The aim of the study course is to give students an understanding of the basic principles of functioning of the international economy in its historical perspective, as well as to present the latest trends in international economic relations, problems arising from the economic interactions of independent countries. The course examines in depth two important areas of international economic relations:
International trade - focusing on real transactions in the world - operations in which the actual movement of goods or the actual contribution of economic resources takes place;
International money - focusing on the financial aspects of the global economy - financial transactions.

Results During the study course the students develop the skills to analyze the current issues in the international economic relations and to apply theoretical knowledge in understanding the instruments of economic policies. They should be able to evaluate the Latvian economy in the context of sustainable development problems of the global economy.
