|Course annotation||The aim of the course is to develop speaking and listening English language skills for business communication in different situations related to office work etc. A successful completion of the course gives an opportunity to prepare and make presentations for studies and work. The course is designed for students from various faculties with different English language knowledge.

|Results||On successful completion of the course students will be able to:
-understand a long speech (dialogue) on the topics foreseen in the course e.g. presentations, conversations on the phone ( comprehension, listening);
- start and make business conversation without preparation;
- participate in discussions in English about the topics foreseen in the course, e.g. cultural differences (speaking, discussion, dialogue);
- find information on the Internet and make presentation in English on business communication topic weighing up different opinions (speaking, speech);
- use the acquired knowledge and skills in communication with foreigners, e.g. ability to compare own culture with other cultures and overcome stereotyped thinking.
|Requirements for obtaining credit points||1.Successfully completed interim written test – 30%
2.Oral presentations – 40%
3.Fulfilment of practical tasks in class and self-study assignments – 20%
4.Oral exam – 10%
