Course annotation :

The course aim is to promote an understanding about modern science teaching process and argumentation skills. Students are acquainted with the role and place of argumentation in the learning process. During practical lessons participants develop their argumentation skills: create situations, which require the argumentation, solve them and analyze the results.

Course annotation :

The goal of this course is to provide students with opportunity to gain knowledge about Adaptive Behavior Assessment System - Second Edition and Learning Achievement Test - Second Edition, as well as to help them develop skills in using these methods for psychological assessment, to analyze and interpret the gathered information and to prepare an assessment report. The course will focus on the use of the tests in relation to the child’s age and the clinical assessment goals, and also there will be discussion of ethical principals in relation to the assessment process.

The aim of the course is to deepen the participants’ knowledge about the normative regulation related to the assessment of the teacher’s professional activity, the ways and content of assessing the teacher’s professional competence, and to deepen the participants’ understanding about the content of teacher’s professional competence and possibilities of its promotion. During the practical classes the participants share their professional experience in the field of assessment, discuss the normative regulation related to the assessment of the teacher’s professional activity, model the content of the assessment process and its organization evaluating the benefits and risks.

Course provides basic knowledge in accounting. Aim of the course - to give knowledge in the level of understanding and application about elements of accounting system, accounting system of Latvia and general principles of accounting for those studying in program of professional education.

To reach the goal, students have to learn theory of classification of entrepreneurial assets and their source classification linkage with accounting balance, accounts, and double record, documentation, inventarisation, and business assets evaluation methods. In pratice students learn basic business transaction record and preparation of period balance.

These elements are enforced by translation of Greek sentences/texts. The texts and sentences used in the study process not only illustrate the pertinent grammar material but also disclose the most important events of the history of ancient Greece and provide insight into the culture of the ancient world, mainly ancient Greek civilization. Readings and translation of the texts are supplemented by the analysis of the material from the perspective of contents or literary/ mythological/ historical context as well as philological commentaries.
