Course annotation :

Course provides basic knowledge in accounting. Aim of the course - to give knowledge in the level of understanding and application about elements of accounting system, accounting system of Latvia and general principles of accounting for those studying in program of professional education.

To reach the goal, students have to learn theory of classification of entrepreneurial assets and their source classification linkage with accounting balance, accounts, and double record, documentation, inventarisation, and business assets evaluation methods. In pratice students learn basic business transaction record and preparation of period balance.

Course annotation :

The aim of the course is to provide students with the most basic knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic. The objectives of the course are:

1) to teach students the basics of Arab phonetics and spelling;

2) to teach them Arabic alphabet;

3) to acquaint them with some basic structures of Arabic grammar;

 

4) to form the vocabulary of the most indispensable Arabic words and expressions (on given topics).

Course annotation :

The goal of the course is to provide insight into the culture of the ancient world, mainly ancient Greek civilization on the basis of reading and translation of Greek texts.The course envisages acquiring knowledge of the fundamental areas of Greek grammar and lexical minimum. These elements are enforced by translation of Greek sentences/texts. The texts and sentences used in the study process not only illustrate the pertinent grammar material but also disclose the most important events of the history of ancient Greece and provide insight into the culture of the ancient world, mainly ancient Greek civilization. Readings and translation of the texts are supplemented by the analysis of the material from the perspective of contents or literary/ mythological/ historical context as well as philological commentaries.

Course annotation :

The aim is to learn the basics of the Italian language (reading, writing and speaking) according to different dailylife situations. The studies are described from a theoretical point of view and then the students can successfully adapt it in the real situations. Course annotation :

The objectives of the course - to build the communicative and intercultural competence for the further application of the knowledge of Latvian in the study process and professional activities.

The course has been developed in accordance with the A1 level requirements of the content specifications set by the European Council.

The course syllabus has been designed to help the learners function in elementary social situations, promote the acquisition of new lexis and grammar necessary for everyday communication, and form a firm basis for further communication in the target language:

- to give knowledge about the vocabulary, phonology and syntax of the Latvian language in order to develop linguistic competence;

- to acquire the basics in the perception of the Latvian language, gradually developing reading, writing, listening and speaking skills;

- the development of the communication skills is based on the grammar paradigms of the Latvian language.

The course aims to introduce students to the psychology and andragogy subjects and different mental characteristics of human, to provide students with the knowledge of the main concepts of communication, reveal communication patterns and the basic rules of successful communication for diabetic patient care and education.
