Novelty and originality characterize a large part of the results of practical research carried out by the University of Latvia (UL). Intellectual property rights need to be protected before they can be exploited. These rights are protected by registering them as patents, trademarks, industrial designs, items of plant or know-how. Any natural or legal person can acquire (usually through the auction process) the right to use these objects in their own interests, compensating the investments made by the UL in creating the object.
We invite you to find more information about intellectual property portfolio of the UL and the possibility of acquiring an object you are interested in.
