Nowadays zinc oxide-based quantum structures have been intensively investigated because they are very attractive for applications in UV optoelectronic devices due to the large exciton binding energy of 60 meV. In this seminar the results of our studies of single and multiple quantum well structures of ZnMgO/ZnO/ZnMgO grown by MBE on different substrates will be presented. In particular, properties of asymmetric coupled quantum wells grown on polar and non-polar ZnO and sapphire will be discussed. The results of preliminary decay time measurements on ZnO-based quantum structures will be shown.
