The focus of Riga Summer School 2018, a University of Latvia Faculty of Social Sciences practical program for international students, will be content production for digital channels and social media. The summer school welcomed participants from India, Denmark, China, Germany, Taiwan, Russia, the Netherlands, USA, Bolivia, Italy and Latvia with a picnic at the University of Latvia’s Botanical garden yesterday. The summer school will conclude on August 17 with a closing event of participant presentations on the topic “Latvia Celebrates 100 Years”.

The summer school will feature lectures on various aspects of digital storytelling by Dr. Viktors Freibergs, Dr. Līva Brice, Dr. Marita Zitmane, Lolita Stašāne and Kaspars Rūklis. The participants will produce a number of audiovisual social media clips on various aspects of Latvia during its centennial year under the guidance of instructor Roberts Vīksne. The summer school will also contain a rich social and cultural program for all participants in Riga and other locations in Latvia.
