October 19–20, the 2nd International Conference in Pharmacology “From Cellular Processes to Drug Targets” will take place at the University of Latvia (UL) Academic Centre of Natural Sciences, bringing together lecturers from Slovenia, USA, Lithuania, Germany, Great Britain, Estonia, and Latvia. The conference is organized by the Department of Pharmacology of the UL Faculty of Medicine, in collaboration with the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis and Latvian Society of Pharmacology.

The researchers, academicians, doctors, pharmacists, and students will discuss the newest discoveries of pharmacology and share ideas about the development of the pharmacology. The chairpersons of conference sessions include the main editor of the acclaimed pharmacology journal “Pharmacological Research” Emilio Clementi (Italy). The current topics like aging and corresponding health problems, most recent research about treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other rare diseases will be discussed. The audience will be introduced with the latest facts about the study of brain damage and cannabinoids. The full programme can be found in  homepage of the conference. The abstracts of the conference will be published in the journal “Intrinsic Activity”. 49 abstracts have been submitted for the panels of conference, representing not only from Latvia but also Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Bulgaria, and other countries. The five best young scientists below the age of 35, who have submitted the abstracts for the panels, will receive conference awards. Conference participation fee is 35 euro, for students – 20 euro.
