On the 30th of March, Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis congratulated winners of international science olympiads, their teachers and mentors. Janis Liepins and Agnese Kokina received Diploma of Cabinet of Ministers for their successful work with talented high school students when preparing them for 27th International Biology Olympiad in Hanoi (Vietnam).

The International Biology Olympiad (IBO) is annual competition for high school students. Student practical skills and theoretical knowledge in biology are tested by  solving problems and performing experiments.  Every participating country sends four students, the winners of the respective national competitions. Two team leaders who represent the country accompany them. In bringing together gifted students, the IBO competition tries to challenge and stimulate these students to expand their talents and to promote their career as scientists.
