On 27th of April at the University of Latvia by master program “European studies” students initiative group with supporting University of Latvia, Tbilisi state university, Georgian Embassy in Republic of Latvia, and Georgian restaurant “Phirosmani” is organized the international conference “Georgian-Latvian relations: past, present, perspectives”.

On the first part of the conference will be evaluated the youth role in the process of Euro-Atlantic integration by vice-rector of university of Latvia Prof. Krumins, dean of the faculty of economics and management Prof Maris Purgailis,  Director of the Centre for European and Transition Studies of the university of Latvia - Professor Tatjana Muravska, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Georgia and Ukraine to the Republic of Latvia- Mr. Konstantine Korkelia and Mr. Raul Chiliachava. On the second part of the conference will be presented the presentations by Georgian and Latvian students concerning such issues like European integration and regional cooperation, Latvian-Georgian political and economic relations and Latvian-Georgian cultural relations. After finishing the official part of the conference will be held the Georgian event. There will be presented Georgian dancing, song, and Georgian traditional cousin with delicious Georgian wine, also will be presented the exhibition of famous Georgian painters and photographers on Georgia theme. The event main purpose is to make the informal introduction Georgian issue to Latvian society in special way, how Georgians see and feel themselves, organizers of the project hope to introduce Latvian society the truly Georgian soul.
