Call for papers
International Science, Technology & Engineering Conference (ISTEC) aims to provide a multinational platform where the latest trends science and technology can be presented and discussed in a friendly environment with the aim to learn from each other. Prospective presenters are encouraged to submit proposals for papers, posters/demonstrations and video presentations that offer new research or theoretical contributions. Presentations should be in Turkish, English and Korean languages and should address both theoretical issues and new research findings.
Furthermore if the presenter is unable to attend the oral presentation, video presentation is available. For further information on how to submit, please refer to the Paper Submission section on our website. For paper guidelines, please refer to the Paper Guidelines section.
ISTEC 2013 conference is supported by Sakarya University, SUNY Korea and TASET and will take place on July 18-20, 2013 at SUNY Korea Lecture Hall 156. All full paper presentations will be published in an online proceedings book of ISTEC 2013 and the selected papers will be published in The Online Journal of Science and Technology.
Conference Language
The official languages of the conference are Korean, English and Turkish. Proposals can be sent and be presented in either language. But all submission proccess will be done in English. Please, submit your proposal according to the following presentation category descriptions in paper guidelines.

Model United Nations conferences have been and are held throughout the globe, on all continents and in many countries. The goal of such an event is to provide a chance for students to get familiar with recent issues, to improve their understanding of current events, diplomacy, international relations and politics. At an MUN conference, debating techniques and skills are also contested, as well as the use of English.
Delegations represent one country each, adopting different countries’ views and beliefs, examining their background and getting familiar with them. Furthermore, realistic rules of procedure are used to suit the needs of such simulations. The delegates need to follow the dress-code of the conference as well.

EARTHQUAKE ENGINEERING AND ENGINEERING SEISMOLOGY

The course (7.5 ECTS) is held in the wake of three strong earthquakes in South Iceland in 2000 and 2008, and the recent earthquake sequence in North Iceland in 2012. The goal is to provide the participants with knowledge and understanding of the multi-disciplinary nature of earthquake effects on the man-made environment. This includes addressing the various effects of the earthquake source, source-site geometry, wave propagation, site effects, and structural behavior during damaging earthquakes, and how this information is applied in conceptual and codified design according to EUROCODE 8. Participants will also obtain first-hand experience in measuring earthquake waves and monitoring structural vibrations.
The course is held in Selfoss, in the South Iceland Seismic Zone. Additionally, and included in the course is a four-day field excursion to the town of Husavik in North Iceland, which is situated atop the largest active transform fault in the country. The focus of this classroom-on-wheels is on all aspects of earthquake engineering concern for an urban area exposed to large earthquakes.
The course is tailor-made for civil engineering students, but mathematically oriented geoscience students are especially encouraged to apply as well.

The Economics of Sustainable Development
A range of challenges from volatile oil and food prices, financial, economic and debt crises to climate change are threatening global efforts to achieve development that is sustainable, or that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. These multi-dimensional challenges do not have purely economic solutions, nor purely social or environmental ones. They require integrated solutions that combine economic, social and environmental elements.
The Worldwide Fund for Sustainable Development by far the best analysis of how the financial, economic and debt crisis will affect humanitarian and development funding and how to develop a counter-cyclical strategy building. The conference programme is dedicated to the current situation and offers an open international forum for the discussion of this topic. The aim is to establish new design perspectives and actions through dialogue with representatives from civil society, politics, economics, and science, individuals amongst others.

Contemporary Germany consists of a diverse multicultural landscape of individuals whose origins stem from every continent of the world. These multicultural individuals/communities both live and work together, and as such the question of defining the German identity becomes a major question for the German public at large. In addition, new opportunities and challenges are faced in developing and maintaining international and intercultural relations both within the framework of the EU and internationally. On a global level, the question of multiculturalism is a growing issue and will be a main world focus for the next generations. Western countries are engaging with Multiculturalism policies on a significant basis and are continually amending and reinventing to fit the policies to an ever changing world.
The ICD recognizes the opportunity for Cultural Diplomacy to serve as a bridge between people of different cultures. The 2012 Cultural Bridges in Germany Conference will therefore focus on the potential for Cultural Diplomacy to further promote and strengthen multicultural relations both in Germany and worldwide. The application of these new practices of multicultural dialogue and exchange will be analyzed during the Conference and will offer a wide diversity of perspectives on the issue of cultural bridges in Germany and internationally. The Conference will consist of a series of simultaneous sessions of lectures, panel discussions, interactive roundtable discussions, seminars, group visits, excursion and cultural activities.
The Conference will be held parallel to the “23rd Anniversary to the fall of the Berlin Wall” and the participants will be able to participate in the official ceremony and events which will be a unique opportunity to learn more about the history and contemporary context of German unity.

"Urban ecology and sustainable development" is the main topic of Call for Entries, for the program of environmental film "Green Screen Fest" which is going to be held within the International Green Culture Festival "GREEN FEST", November 14th-16th 2012, in Dom Omladine, Belgrade.

"3rd International Conference on Microgeneration and Related Technologies"
15 - 17 April 2013 in Naples, Italy
The 1st edition (National Resources Canada, Ottawa, 2008) was the first forum for presenting the latest research, development, and experimental results in the dynamic field of small cogeneration technologies and the 2nd edition (University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, 2011) attracted over 120 delegates from 16 countries.
The conference theme is promoting “the transition to high efficiency distributed energy systems”, focusing on the diffusion of low carbon microgeneration technologies for residential and small commercial applications, with a special attention on building integration and grid interconnection.
Microcogeneration, micropolygeneration (combined cooling, heating and power generation) and hybrid systems (both fossil and renewable fuelled) will be covered.
A full afternoon of the conference will be industry-focused featuring contributions from industry experts and highlighting commercial perspectives on the future development of the technology in this emergent field.
