Mixed choir "Dziesmuvara"
The mixed choir Dziesmuvara has been founded in April 9, 1925 as both mixed choir and union of students. In these forms it acted till 1944.
Since autumn 2000 Dziesmuvara has been re-established both as an union and a choir. The art director, conductor of the choir was Ainārs Rubiķis. Since 2007 the choir has been devolved to the guidance of the outstanding conductor Edgars Račevskis.
Dziesmuvara has participated in XXIV Latvian Nationwide Song and Dance Celebration, opening and closing concerts of the XIV Dance Celebration, as well as participated in semifinal of Riga’s choir parade in the frames of the celebration. In summer 2008 Dziesmuvara participated in Music Days of Jāzeps Vītols, which took place on 25-26 of July, 2008 in Anniņas, Gaujiena. In autumn 2009 the choir performed E. Račevskis mass on the 100th anniversary of the Klostere church in Turlava parish. And those are only some of the moments when the choir provided the listeners with the feast of music.
