The Library of the University of Latvia is the largest accredited higher education library of State significance, the main information resource centre for studies and research at the University of Latvia.

The library users have access to over 2 million volumes in different world languages. The library collections contain printed paper, unpublished documents, audio-visual materials, electronic resources and others. Any student of the University of Latvia can become a library user by registering at the main building of the library or any of the department libraries. Students sign for being informed of the regulations for library users.

The student’s card is also a reader’s card. It ensures access of the Library of the University of Latvia as well as other libraries in conformity with their regulations – the Latvian Academic Library, Latvian National Library, Latvian Medical Library, Patent and Technology Library, the Library of the Stradiņš University of Riga and the Science Library of the Riga Technical University.
