From the airport "RIGA"

The airport “RIGA” is located 13 km southwest of Riga. There is a special shuttle bus service to the city center (costs: EUR 5). A cheaper option is to take bus No 22 which goes to the center of Riga for the price of a regular ticket bought from the bus driver (EUR 2.00). The ride is approximately 30 minutes long and the bus leaves every 30 minutes from 04:25 a.m. till 00:35 p.m.

A taxi can take you to the city center in 15 - 20 minutes. Prepare to pay 15-25 EUR. Allow extra time, if traveling by bus or taxi during the rush hours.

From the central railway terminal

There are railway connections with St.Petersburg, Moscow, Truskavets and Simferopol. The central railway terminal is located in the central part of Riga. It will take you a 5 - 10 minutes walk to get to the Old Town, the major hotels and to the University of Latvia.

From the bus terminal

There are bus connections with all the neighbouring countries. The main route from Western Europe runs to Riga from Berlin, via Warsaw and Vilnius. The bus terminal is also situated in the center of Riga, next to the railway terminal. The luggage room is open from 05:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Tram No 7 will take you to the center which is just one stop ahead. If you choose to walk, it will take you 5 - 10 minutes to reach the Old Town.

From the ferry terminal

The ferry terminal is about 1.5 km away from the center of Riga. It is possible to take trams N 5, 7 or 9 for the price of regular ticket bought from the tram driver in the first wagon of the tram (EUR 2.00). The tram stop is situated on Ausekla iela in front of the terminal. Ride two stops.

Other towns in Latvia

There are train or bus connections with all the towns of Latvia. It will take approximately 40 minutes by train to go to Jelgava (EUR: 2.05), 2,5 hours by bus to Valmiera (EUR 4.60), 4 hours to Rezekne (bus: EUR 9.55), 4 hours to Ventspils (bus: EUR 7.55-7.95) or Liepāja (bus: EUR 8.55-8.90), 4 hours to Daugavpils (bus: EUR 8.90). Train is usually cheaper.
