The aim of the PhD study school is to provide adequate training and create possibilities for the PhD students to available facilities and resources to advance
a) research of resource (at first geological resources) studies in Latvia and
b) develop adequately trained specialists in geology, environmental sciences, and chemistry.

The school will provide training in generic skills as well as will give a series of seminars on specific topics of importance for special training.
Within 4 years it is planned to enroll at least 30 participants.
The school will be managed in a close cooperation between experts in geology, chemistry, environmental science using facilities available in the each partner institution.
For the participants of the school training will be offered as lectures and seminars including also demonstration of facilities available in the partner institution laboratories.
The research will be done in close cooperation with national and international cooperation partners.
