The programme combines language studies with business studies and aims at preparing students for international careers in enterprises and institutions operating in the modern economic and political environment. All three elective modules comprise studying Business English, Financial English, English for Law, as well as studying general and business aspects of the other modern language. The programme provides cultural studies through such courses as Intercultural Communication, Intercultural Business Relations, business studies throughthe basic management studies as well as EU and international market specific study courses. Students will be able to continue education in Master degree programmes and second level professional study programmes.

Programme courses

The language studies in the programme offer a choice between three language modules: English-French, English-Spanish and English-German.

Study period and classes time
The full-time degree programme covers 4 academic years. Classes are mainly from 8.30am till 6pm in the working days. The part-time programme covers 5 academic years. Classes are 3 times a month on Saturdays from 10am till 6pm.

Admission requirements
1.General secondary education diploma is required;
2. English, German or French language knowledge, which must be proved with a grade recorded in the secondary education graduation transcript (the grade can be replaced with one of the international language tests).

Enrollment criteria (for students competing for the state-financed study place)
1. The grade in English, German or French (45%)
2. Grade point average (20%);
3. Satisfactory grade in Mathematics (20%)
3. A certificate of the Latvian language (15%).
Please note! Only EU/EEA/Swiss citizens and EU long-term resident status holders can compete for a state-financed study place.
