The aim of the course is to foster the acquisition of a basic knowledge of Swedish. In phonetics, it intends to raise the learners’ awareness of sound differences. In grammar, it deals with the sentence structure, word order, and verb tenses. It focuses on the integration and gradual development of four language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing. By the end of the course, the learners will be able to communicate in simple everyday situations, tell about themselves, respond to questions using compound sentences, and keep up conversation. Course materials raise interest in Swedish culture and society.
