The present course is envisaged for the students of history to develop reading skills of theoretical literature in speciality. The students work with different kinds of texts typical to the speciality and develop their reading strategies on different levels (of word, sentence, text).

Having successfully completed the course, the students are able to do the following activities:- to find and select literature in speciality for one’s research work,- to evaluate the scientific literature chosen for the research,- to find information in any kind of literature in speciality,- to understand author’s standpoint and be able to express one’s point of view,- with the help of dictionary, to be able to understand scientific texts of different levels of difficulty.
