Entrance requirements
International undergraduate applicants for degree studies are required to have completed their secondary education and must possess university eligibility in their own country. Please read the respective admission requirements for the chosen programme.
International postgraduate applicants for degree studies are required to have completed their Bachelor’s level education.
Admission requirements
International students should submit in person or send by regular mail to UL Student Services or to the Faculty of Medicine (applying for the Higher Professional Study Programme in Medicine) the following application documents:
1. Certified copy of secondary education diploma and grade transcript in original language (for undergraduate studies)
or
Certified copy of bachelor diploma and diploma supplement in original language (for postgraduate studies).
Education documents (except documents issued in EU/EEA countries or Switzerland) must be legalized;
2. A notarized translation of education documents in English or Latvian;
3. Document confirming proficiency of the language of instruction (if necessary);
4. Copy of passport;
5. Application form;
6. One passport-size photo;
7. Copy of application fee payment receipt. Application fee is non-refundable and must be transferred to the UL bank account;
8. Motivation letter (for Master’s degree programme “European Studies”);
9. Curriculum Vitae (for Master’s degree programmes “International Business with specialization in Export Management” , “Educational Treatment of Diversity” and “European Studies”);
10. Medical report and copy of entire vaccination document about Hepatitis B and TD-Tetanus/Diphtheria vaccinations (For Higher Professional Study programme “Medicine”).
Application fee
For undergraduate studies
EU/EEA/Swiss citizens and EU long-term residence status holders - 20 LVL (29 EUR);
Non EU/EEA/Swiss students – 35 LVL (50 EUR)
For postgraduate studies
EU/EEA/Swiss citizens and EU long-term residence status holders – 15 LVL (22 EUR)
Non-EU/EEA/Swiss students – 35 LVL (50 EUR)

Prospective “Medicine” programme students applying for the Spring 2013 intake:
EU/EEA/Swiss citizens and residence permit holders – till December 14, 2012
Citizens from other countries – till November 30, 2012.
Other applicants:
EU/EEA/Swiss citizens and residence permit holders – will be updated
Citizens from other countries – till May 15, 2013
