The goal of the Academic Department is to ensure united and balanced academic activities (studies and research) in the UL, its policy-making and operational concepts development, as well as operational planning according to the UL mission and objectives.

The main functions of the Academic Department are:

1. To define and ensure appropriate approaches of academic activities according to the UL mission, objectives and operational strategies;
2. To analyse and monitor the quality of academic activities both inside and outside UL;
3. To organize academic activities, to develop the academic load norms and control their implementation, to coordinate and supervise the academic departments involved;
4. To develop, coordinate the implementation and elaborate on the academic standards and documentation (study initiation, study completion and research activities)
