Main areas  of research

1. History of philosophical, cultural and religious ideas in Latvia, study of the Latvian national  identity.
2. History of Western philosophy and studies of contemporary European philosophical trends. (phenomenology,hermeneutics,pragmatism,philosophical anthropology, analytical philosophy, psychoanalysis, axiology, feminism).Latvian translations of Old Greek philosophical and contemporary West European philosophical texts.
3. Analysis of the social structure of society: changes of the social structure in Latvia, regional development, labour market, sociological characteristics of families and women, oral history.
