The aim of the centre is to strengthen and develop a research base for the studies of the Greek language, literature and culture in Latvia, thus promoting the learning and the research of the modern Greek language, literature and culture; to facilitate a more diverse and contemporary appraisal of Hellenic values within the environment of humanitarian values in Latvia.
Annual seminars: readings of and discussions on contemporary Greek literature; classes of Modern Greek.
Collections of research articles: The Hellenic Dimension for Europe/Hellenic Heritage; Antiquitas Viva. Studia Classica; ITAKA - a series of translations of ancient and contemporary Greek authors.
Activities: International research conferences "The Hellenic Dimension (research on language, literature and culture"; a traditional biennale "Days of Antique Poetry": staging in the original language of "The Birds", a comedy by Aristophanes (LUDUS ACADEMICUS, a theatrical group of students and teachers), etc.
