The Centre`s scope includes the Latin cultural heritage of Ancient Rome and the mediaeval Latin tradition. Recognising the role of Latin in the history of the European culture as a whole, the Centre`s aim is to highlight the significance of the legacy of the ancient Roman culture for medieval and contemporary linguistic, literary and cultural processes in Latvia, to promote academic, educational and cultural activities related to the identification and research of Latin heritage.
